How We Work

Here’s what can be expected on a software development project. The steps may change depending on the needs on the project and team.

Step 1: The First Date

This step usually begins with a consultation call or a coffee meeting. We’ll ask a lot of questions. We hope you’ll ask us a lot of questions. We will have a mutual goal of getting to know each other, understand goals and fit to see if we can work together. If we decide to move forward, the very next step would be the signing of our services agreement and prepayment of a retainer to begin work. Next, we’ll schedule a kickoff meeting.

Step 2: The Kick-off

As we have decided that we want to make beautiful things together, it is time to work through the requirements for the project. We like doing this in a full day, face to face, kickoff meeting. During the kickoff stage, we work closely togther to understand goals, plans, budgets. We’ll take a look at top level objectives and drive down into user stories. At the completion of this meeting, we will have basic wireframes, user stories, and a MVP roadmap with weekly objectives.

Step 3: Build It

With a roadmap in place, we’re executing. We’ll be in close communication to ensure that our weekly priorities are aligned. You’ll see how our time is being spent and provide feedback for next week’s iteration.

Step 4: Ship It

You’ve seen it, you’ve blessed it, now we ship it. As a agile development step, we’ll move back and forth between steps 3 and 4. As soon as a feature is completed, we’ll delivery it to you in a “staging” environment. The staging environment is where you get to see and try out all the features before the site is deployed to production.
